During the conference last week, @oprah shared that when we communicate we want our words to be heard, be understood, and have meaning. • I exited her speech thinking of all the times Nate has said “You’re missing the point.” or asked “Did you hear me?”, and I knew right then that I had to do better. I’m not a good listener, and it’s something I’m challenging myself to change immediately. • I want Nate to know he’s heard and that what he says means something. So, here’s to many more evenings by the fire with a bottle of wine, talking with and listening to the love of my life.❤️ @chrisandnate chrisandnate Chris & Nate

I think we should all strive to do that more, put down our mobiles and concentrate on what we are listening to. Whether that's someone talking or just a song playing on the radio. Beautiful photo and post!

That is so awesome that you are working hard to improve yourself for you nate and your marriage. It will make you and the love that you have for each other so much stronger. Love makes me smile.

This is something for sure that @br_marsh and I have been dealing with the same thing. It’s easy to become complacent in communication and begin to neglect those little things like listening to the other in a way that makes them feel like you are on their side and they are not alone. It’s something that we are working on growing with and getting back to how we used to be with it. Thank you for sharing and know you aren’t alone ❤️
